Is Spring really here? YEA!

Send ALL EMAIL correspondence to pendulousplants@gmail.com until further notice.

Now that I've gotten that little bit of administrative annoyance out of the way...Welcome to Spring! Here are a few shots of my 'helpers' around the nursery...

(yea, that's my boy with a pink watering can. He stole it from my daughter!)

Yes, Spring is here. God plans it that way every year, yet we still get so excited to see it again. I'm so glad we finally got rid of that pesky snow that just kept coming and coming this year. Normally we get just one or two dustings of snow each winter, but this year was a BIG exception. Luckily we never got around to putting the plastic on the hoop house and it's a good thing as you will see below. Most all the plants did just fine, except for the Geisha Hollies...lost every one! For some reason, all the hollies around our area suffered this winter. There is a very large pair of chinese hollies between here and my daughter's school that have large dead branches in them now. Clearly, they've been around a long time, but this winter did some serious damage.

This is what our greenhouse looks like with a cozy blanket of snow. Quite picturesque, really.

The first snowfall we had was the deepest and it took out our covered greenhouse, which thankfully was empty. It used to be our propagation house when we first got started in this business, but has not been used since last winter. Once we get it cleaned up though, it will become a new shade house like it's neighbor, so I'm looking forward to that.

The bright side is that Spring has now arrived and it's very near time to set your garden plan in motion. Check out our website!

Email

To all my customers: We are not getting an automatic email from Paypal when orders are being placed. It is causing a delay in getting a confirmation email back to you, so bear with us when you order. The reason is, our website is woefully out of date and since I bear the "web design" tag too, it hasn't been updated yet which causes problems with Paypal.

I sincerely apologize. Feel free to email me directly when you place an order and I'll try to respond more quickly. Right now, I'm only able to check our Paypal account on the weekend.

Thanks for your understanding!

Bugs, Bugs!

And not the insect kind, they're easy to get rid of, these are the website kind. Each website update usually brings out several bugs, so I'm in the process of fixing them now. If you want a plant and keep getting the main Paypal page, just email me and I'll invoice you. info@pendulousplants.com

Thanks!!

Website Update

Yes, it's true! I have finally gotten the PendulousPlants.Com website updated with a few new plants and lots of new links. Be sure to check out the Unusual Stuff page to see the new Exotic Maple Collection. If you are a Japanese Maple connoisseur, then these plants are for you! Newly selected, with Japanese origins, there are not too many of these babies around. Get yours before they are sold out.

Also a change this year, we've had to switch to UPS for our shipping. You probably won't see any difference, but it's kind of a big deal for us. DHL shifted to overseas-only and closed down their entire domestic shipping operation in December. We really liked DHL a lot and only had 2 shipping problems over the past 6 years...I hope UPS can live up to that standard! We'll see.

That's it for now! Get out and start working those planting beds!

Camperdown Elms

I know it's been a long time since we've had Camperdown Elms available, BUT there is good news! I just got 12 in this week!! Keep in mind, they are still in small pots and need to be potted up but the tops are large enough that we might be able to ship a few this fall. As you know there is a waiting list and we won't be able to get to everyone with this shipment, but there are more on the way next year. At least we've got the pipeline flowing now! So, send in your requests if you haven't done so already.

Weeping Pagoda Trees are Looking Good!

Just a quick note to all you Pagoda Tree fans. They are really "coming on" well so far this spring and we may be able to clear our backlog of requests within the next year. To continue the good news, we just got in some newly grafted stock and among them are even more Pagoda Trees, so I think we'll finally be able to get a standing inventory. Yea!
